Diabecon is a herbal formulation marketed by Himalaya Healthcare. It is basically an insulin sensitizer and is indicated in the treatment of diabetes. It improves glucose metabolism and controls insulin levels in the blood through increased peripheral utilization of glucose in the muscles and processing in the liver. Hirsutism, acne, alopecia and obesity improve with decreased insulin levels and so does the frequency of ovulation and the menstrual cycle.
Treatment Protocol
Diabecon works very well for women with insulin-resistance. It is milder in its potency compared to Hyponidd (another herbal insulin sensitizer) and can be safely taken for long periods of time. 1-2 tablets twice a day, half an hour before meals decreases gastrointestinal absorption of glucose from the meals. It also helps to improve pancreatic functioning. A treatment protocol with Diabecon lasting for 4-6 months supported by uterine tonics such as Ashokarishtam, M2-Tone, or Evecare restores ovulation in a large percentage of women.
A physician's advice is recommended when determining the dosage and duration of the treatment. Usage without discretion can make the patient permanently dependent on the medication. Also include home-remedies like Fenugreek, Tulsi, Amla, etc. in the treatment protocol. Follow a healthy diet and detoxification procedures, exercise regularly.
